About Us

K Hulse Consulting offers expertise to independent retailers and small businesses to help them grow. I can help with developing the customer offer; sales strategy; supplier negotiations; product management, product launches, and web content on a project basis, through ongoing support or through coaching.

Kim Hulse has over 20 years of experience with a large UK retailer and more recently with small independent retailers. My expertise is in the customer journey, product management, supplier relationships, trading strategies and project management. I love launching new projects – whether it’s a new business, new product or new sales channel.

K Hulse Consulting offers a professional service by listening to your needs, understanding your customers and delivering improvements for your business.

“Kim has been great at helping me organise all the 101 things I thought I should be doing to get my sewing business started. She listened to me rambling on and then came back with everything and more in a super-organised and accessible format! I can now concentrate on each aspect in the knowledge that I am going in the right direction.”

Case Study: A new shop

K Hulse Consulting project-managed the launch of an exciting new independent retail shop. Services included securing target brands; negotiating terms with suppliers; recommending product ranges; developing trading strategies for each product group; creating web content for static pages and collating data to drive faceted navigation for product pages. Prior to the store opening, marketing campaigns were supported and we helped build relationships with local community groups and businesses.

I thought all the advice you gave me was of great use and helped me a lot. It allowed me to see the bigger picture and also get a fresh view of the situation. The notes from our meeting, additional information and outline of a plan of action are a great addition to our meeting and gratefully received.”
